        Verdict

        Captain Scooby won this off a higher mark in 2009 and is worthy of consideration after a better effort at Beverley last time. Arganil has been threatening to get his head back in front but it's a worry that he hasn't scored on turf since 2008, while Saucy Brown has done all his winning on a faster surface. DOC HAY was an impressive winner in soft ground in June and, though he's 9lb higher today, Keith Dalgleish's sprinter will relish the underfoot conditions and can find the necessary improvement. C&D winner Verinco looks a shade high in the weights but Above The Stars has scope for improvement.
