Verdict

Firth Of Forth was entered in the 4.40 at Wetherby yesterday. Applaus is in the veteran stage now but runs his best races here. Another veteran, Jimmy Rabbitte, has been knocking on the door this year but he wouldn’t want any rain. Sacchoandvanzetti is 6lb better off than when beaten under three lengths by Heross Du Seuil at Uttoxeter and is due a change of luck while Irish raider Skip Mahler has placed the last twice. Finisk River was second at Bangor in August but most of the others are returning from a break. WHITE RHINO did nothing but improve last season, however, and could go close to defying a further 6lb rise in this company. Kingston Bridge is also respected.
