    Verdict

My Mandy has had plenty of chances to get off the mark and she might have to wait even longer with PATCH PATCH taken to win this maiden while Firetrap also considered. The selection pleased on his only run to date when he stayed on well to chase home a subsequent winner. One he beat out of sight that day has also won a race, albeit a seller, so with the form standing true it should be second time lucky. My Mandy has found just one too good twice in her five career starts and while patchy is a good description of those runs she has improved in the last two efforts. Firetrap didn't confirm his early progression last time but that run was solid enough and if back on the upward curve he can feature. Boss's Destination is an interesting newcomer for Alan Swinbank but with form in the book Patch Patch is preferred.
