      In depth

      Verdict

The winning run of DETECTIVE has been halted but the course specialist has still performed creditably with two runner-up efforts, including one when beaten on the nod. Back down in trip off an unchanged mark, another competitive effort is anticipated. Star Shakeera appeals as a likely danger as she's feasibly treated and should have scope for progression after only five starts. Mike Smith's runners Flying Moon and Royal Countess are respected while watch out for any market moves for the lightly-raced pair Melgate Mystic and Alyara.
