        Verdict

        Chinese Spirit won at Musselburgh before finishing second over a longer trip here while Royal Prospect landed an amateurs' race over track and trip earlier. But DESERT LAND returned to winning ways in a higher grade contest at Newcastle on his debut for Keith Dalgleish’s yard and looks worth sticking with back at this level. Thunderhill is worth another try over this longer trip and has more scope than the veteran Twin Appeal.
