In depth

Verdict

Malin Bay will surely be winning over hurdles before long, but he may need his first race since March and Koup De Kanon also makes his comeback having gone close at Hereford when last seen in April. MONKTON VALE showed his first worthwhile form over timber when third at Wetherby earlier this month and he can confirm running with fourth-placed Tower to open his account. Claude Carter put an end to a frustrating run of seconds when only fifth at Kelso last time so Sedgefield winner Northern Acres looks a bigger threat.
