    In depth

Those with hurdling experience are nothing special so it may pay to concentrate on those making their jumping debuts. To Fly Free won as a two-year-old in France but hasn’t shown much this year. Fraterculus placed over 1m2f at Leopardstown in June when trained by Jim Bolger but the vote goes to NAIZAGAI, placed in four of five runs on the Flat when trained by Roger Varian and now with a NH yard that can do little wrong at present.

Debt Of Honour 18-1 (10-12) Chased leaders, jumped right 2nd, lost 3rd after 4 out, mistake and well beaten next, 4th of 8, 29 1/2l behind Hiconic (10-12) at Bangor-on-Dee 2m 1f (4) gd in Jul.

Fraterculus (IRE) 25-1 (9-5) Pushed along towards rear early, soon off pace in last, no impression from 3f out, never a factor, last of 7, 12 1/2l behind Napa Valley (9-10) at Curragh 1m 2f gd in Jun.

Global Agreement 11-2 (9-5) Slowly into stride, behind, kept on final furlong, almost snatched modest 4th, no threat, 5th of 9, 7 1/4l behind Lovers' Gait (9-3) at Bath 1m 2f hcp (6) fm in Jul.

Lairig Ghru 16-1 (9-5) Led narrowly, ridden and headed inside final 2f, lost place over 1f out, no impression final furlong, 6th of 13, 5 1/4l behind King Ragnar (9-5) at Newcastle 6f stks (5) pol in Nov.

Mick (IRE) 16-1 (10-12) Hampered 1st, chased leaders, ridden along and outpaced after 3 out, bad mistake next, switched right and rallied run-in, plugged on, 3rd of 9, 22l behind Soldier On Parade (10-12) at Market Rasen 2m 1f (4) gd in Jul.

Naizagai 9-4jfav (9-5) Led, headed 2f out, hung left over 1f out, no extra towards finish, 3rd of 9, 2 3/4l behind Lady Sansa (9-0) at Chelmsford City 1m 2f stks (5) pol in Jul.

Peat Moss (IRE) 9-1 (8-11) Slowly away, held up towards rear, some headway over 5f out, ridden over 3f out, kept on but no chance with leading pair, 3rd of 14, 7 3/4l behind Pleasure Garden (9-7) at Chepstow 1m 4f hcp (6) gd in Jul.

To Fly Free (8-8) 7th of 11, 7 1/2l behind Bosioh (9-1) at Clairefontaine 1m stks gd in Jul.
