Verdict

In a tight looking handicap chase a chance is taken with the inconsistent THE ARTFUL FOX after a truly impressive display last time with Petit Margot representing real danger if bouncing back to form and Onthegoagain should also feature after a couple of improving runs. Southwell was the venue for the selections tremendous performance as he won from 24lbs out of the handicap. The form from the race has some strength to if so although consistency has never been his forte he looks worth chancing. Tony McCoy looks the perfect partner for Petit Margot who has proven herself not that willing in recent runs. She was going well until losing her pilot last time so if the partnership is kept intact she has a good chance off this mark. Onthegoagain stepped up on his season debut to run well and find just one the better too good last time. On a strict reading of that form he holds the pick so he should go close. Western Gale improved a bit for the application of cheek pieces on his last run and if running to that level again looks one of the more likely but after such a taking display last time out The Artful Fox looks the one.
