Verdict

Black Anthem demonstrated the ability of the Newland yard to produce strong results with new recruits by landing a battling success at Stratford, having been beaten in selling company on his previous start. He has a leading chance of following up but FOR JIM impressed when scoring with any amount in hand at Perth this month and can follow up despite being hit with a 9lb hike in the ratings. He does concede a stone to the Newland inmate but is still the preference. Kildaven Spider is in good heart at present and merits respect along with Champagne Chaser, just inched out the last day, and Irish raider Bracka Lily whose yard enjoyed a winner here on Saturday.
