Verdict
Applesandpierres hacked up on first start for Sophie Leech after leaving the Skelton yard but was then beaten over 30 lengths next time round. A two-time point-to-point winner, all depends upon him transferring the best of his hurdling form to this first run over fences under Rules. Cool Valley is also a dual winner in the pointing sphere but is best watched at present and DEAR SIRE rates a sound option. His hurdling form is by far the best on offer - he was last seen in the Grade 3 Swinton Hurdle - and he's 7-20 over the smaller obstacles. Donald McCain looks to have identified a good opportunity for the 6-y-o on chasing debut. Trafalgar Rock didn't run at all badly on his first run for the Bowen yard when a Ffos Las fourth and is a contender on that evidence.
