Verdict
A race to treat with caution and the improving Howaboys Quest is only a tentative selection to get the better of Misty Ridge, Happy Days and Nichol Fifty. The last-named comes here fit from the Flat and is capable of a bold show if he runs anywhere near his best, but like many of the field, he is hard to predict and is passed over for win only purposes. The same sentiments apply to Happy Days, who is a long standing maiden in this sphere and, as many punters found out the last time he ran, he will always be a risky proposition to alter that fact. Therefore a process of elimination brings us back to Howaboys Quest, who ran his best race to date when winning over course and distance last time. The Ferdy Murphy-trained gelding is suited by this grade and if he is in the same frame of mind, he may prove to be too determined for Misty ridge near the finish.
