In depth

Verdict

GOLDEN DOYEN can hardly be said to have enjoyed a successful spring but he fell early the last day and had previously contested ultra-competitive handicap hurdles at Cheltenham and Aintree festivals. He's still a class act though at this level and is taken to make his quality shine through despite having to give plenty of weight away all round. Morning Royalty will have been prepared for this meeting but does remain unproven at the trip, which has to be a concern in the softened conditions, whilst recent scorer Sandymount is another taking a major rise in trip. He'll be involved if staying. Join The Clan has no such stamina issues but has been chasing and Petiville steps into handicap company for the first time whilst still a maiden.
