Verdict

Plenty have a fair chance in an open race but we'll go with CALLIOPE despite relatively modest recent form figures. The Sayer mare has dropped nearly a stone in the weights since her last success - at this track. Indeed, her best performances have all come at this idiosyncratic venue and hopefully she's been prepared with this meeting in mind. On We Go has a strong form claim after failing by a neck to follow up a convincing Ayr success and this new mark of 81 looks workable. The best efforts of Benito for Tom Lacey bring him into contention on a first start for his new yard, whilst recent winner, Well Educated, and Fightfortheroses also deserve consideration.
