Verdict

MORNING SUNSHINE can warm punters during this cold snap and land this with Cordier and King's Majesty also in with claims. Donald McCain's charge is unexposed enough to improve from a couple of decent runs in the last two outings. Both have ended up in runners-up spots revealing that his mark is now about right and although the form from the last outing is poor he has enough in the locker to win. Cordier is a consistent sort, who has a weight advantage over the protagonists. He should find the going and trip to suit here and a return to his hold up tactics should have him close off a very competitive mark. King's Majesty was a winner at Fakenham four starts ago and has since struggled under his new mark. That has been eased slightly here but still could be in the grip of the assessor although the return to this distance is a plus. Motive is capable of running a big race at a double figure price under his current rating while Maneki Neko may still be under too much of a burden so we side with Morning Sunshine.
