Verdict

WHIZZ KID, four-times a winner on the Flat in France and Germany, made his hurdling debut in the Grade 1 Tolworth at Sandown where not surprisingly he finished tailed off. He’s swimming in very much calmer waters here and though still to prove himself looks to have been found a good opportunity. Kopa Kilana landed a Musselburgh bumper in October from a subsequent winner so should make his presence felt though Monte Igueldo looks more of a threat. Oliver Greenall’s charge would have finished much closer at Bangor last time had his saddle not slipped and further rain would aid his cause. Edgar Allan Poe, seven-times a winner on the Flat, looks best of the remainder after a fair hurdling debut at Sedgefield.
