In depth

Verdict

SIGURD (NAP) bolted up here last week and looks more than capable of defying his penalty if in the same mood reunited with Brian Hughes. Derrick D'Anjou has been making steady progress at Sedgefield but Epsom Des Mottes disappointed over a shorter trip at Ayr after winning at Newcastle. Furius De Ciergues has been getting closer while Mackie Dee already looks like being a much better chaser than hurdler, though didn’t beat much at Huntingdon. Leicester runner-up Catlin will have stamina to prove.
