In depth

Verdict

Red Man has found one too good in each of his last two starts but looks to have been found a suitable opportunity to open his account and is taken to do so at the main expense of Ton-Chee and Moorlaw. The last mentioned lost no caste in defeat behind Amarula Ridge at Doncaster last time and hails from the in-from yard of Ginger McCain that can do little wrong at present so has to be respected. She's My Girl needs to improve on all known form to trouble the judge, while Honest Endeavour was well held here last time an admittedly better race and may be best watched at present. Lucky Duck was still in contention when falling on his chasing debut last time and it is impossible to know whether that has left its mark or not and a bigger threat is likely to come from Ton-Chee. The seven-year-old looked the most likely winner when falling at the last over course and distance last time and had shown solid form prior to that. He probably would have beaten the selection that day but as that was Red Man's first attempt over the larger obstacles there is every reason to believe that he will improve for the experience and he is taken to open his chasing account today.
