Verdict

Ostfanni gets the call over Festive Chimes, Toni Alcala and I'll Do It Today. Ostfanni has not been seen on the level for 249-days, but Martin Todhunter's seven-year-old is by no means lacking in race fitness, having finished an excellent fifth to Oscar Park in the Pertemps Final at the Cheltenham Festival last month. Successful in back-to back affairs at Musselburgh in July, he looks all set to play a major part today, with his stamina not in doubt. Festive Chimes has yet to win on the Flat, but gained another hurdles victory when coming out on top at Fakenham recently. However, he is rated over a stone below the selection over timber, and if that translates to the level, then he will have a job on to score. Toni Alcala has been woefully one-paced in low-grade contests on the all-weather in the main, and will just be staying on at the finish, but he should at least uphold recent Wolverhampton form with I'll Do It Today on today's terms. Ostfanni has plenty going for him here though, and should prove too strong for them all.
