Verdict
This looks to rest between Silverhay and Icenaslice, with the vote going to the former. David Chapman's gelding improved from his debut outing at Carlisle to run a close second behind Lets Roll at Newcastle, and with further improvement almost guaranteed he will take a great deal of beating. Icenaslice was three quarters of a length behind the selection in that Newcastle contest, and followed that with another promising effort behind Alice Blackthorn at Pontefract. At the weights today Silverhay should come out on top again. The only other rival who appears to have a serious chance is Mr Midasman, a fair fourth behind Sew'N'So Character at Haydock back in July, form that has worked out quite well, however Silverhay could be the more progressive and is fully entitled to be the choice.
