Verdict

There's a few in with chances in this low grade sprint handicap, notably Captain Bluebird, Fine And Dandy and SHARP SHOES, with the last mentioned getting the vote. With soft ground going to inconvenience many of the runners, it should pay to stick with these three. Top weight Captain Bluebird has been dropped a few pounds for his three runs this year but has a real chance on some of his earlier runs. He's by Captain Rio so underfoot conditions should be suitable for Micky Fenton's mount. Ann Duffield's Sharp Shoes has a 184 day absence to overcome but is a live contender on the back of his final start. Again the ground should be no problem and if given an easy lead could be hard to peg back. Fine And Dandy enters calculations on connections alone. Dandy Nicholls is the tracks second top trainer and is a dab hand in these sprint events. The vote goes to Sharp Shoes but money for the Nicholls horse should be monitored.
