        Verdict

        BEAU EILE went close in a decent maiden at York last month. A winner has come out of the race and David Barron's filly gets the nod ahead of Gold Pursuit. The latter was headed in the closing stages at Pontefract last time and is preferred to recent Redcar runner-up Compton River. Newcomers to note include Yorkshire Nanny and Coursing while Richard Fahey's filly Desire is a half-sister to the useful sprinters Frederick Engels and Colonel Mak.
