Verdict
ROSES is taken to translate her very progressive bumper form to the flat scene here; the presence of Spiekeroog in the race may help ensure that she is a backable price as well. Alan Swinbank loves to run his horses in bumpers to help their development. Successful with horses like Turbo Lynn and Alfie Flits in the past (both now Listed class), he follows the same route with Roses today. She has not really been troubled in four bumper wins and assuming that the ground doesn't go lightning quick (unproven on quicker than good), she must run a very big race. Spiekeroog should help make the market as he travels a long way from Warren Place; his trainer's only runner at the meeting, the colt is expected to improve for this step up in trip today. Solas Alaain is rated 67; he drops back into maiden company today but couldn't have found a tougher Catterick maiden and although he is a player now back up in trip, he is taken on. Kinetic Art's best bumper run came at this track, whilst Marillos Proterras and Seminal Moment have been exposed as very modest so far although the latter may find marked improvement for this much longer trip. An interesting finale very much worth sticking around for, if only to back Roses to win again.
