Verdict
Venetia Williams continues in good form but Saroque hasn't shown much in bumpers or maidens over timber and is asked to concede weight all round on his handicap debut. Badgers Retreat produced two reasonable efforts on good ground at Sedgefield but has struggled badly in much softer going and takes a big drop in trip. Aye Well almost pulled off the shock of the season when a close runner-up to Bonnie Burnett at Ayr and it was no surprise when he struggled at Aintree subsequently while Oscar Stanley failed to last home over 2m6f at Sedgefield after a promising run at Carlisle. Notonebuttwo needs massive improvement so this can go to ONE FOR LUCK, who was travelling best of all at this trip when sent over 2m4f at Doncaster but faded when headed.
