In depth
Verdict
Stage School looks another strong candidate for Mark Johnston, and she gets the verdict ahead of Sound The Alarm and Auvergne. This daughter of Sunday Silence showed plenty of promise on her only juvenile start when chasing home the hot pot Westland at Yarmouth. The extra furlong today will be ideal and she looks the safest option. Stable companion Auvergne is making his racecourse debut and this son of Green Desert will not have to be anything too special to figure in the finish. Sound That Alarm has been well supported on all three outings to date. He hasn't been beaten far by some promising types and looks guaranteed some place money this afternoon. Of the others Malcheek made a promising debut last season and may also get involved, but Stage School can be expected to improve for her experience and gets the nod.
