    Verdict

A Grade 2 novice winner over hurdles, BIRCHDALE returns to action. He finished well beaten when third at Ascot on last year’s chasing bow but today’s faster going will suit and Nicky Henderson’s charge is clear at the weights. Northofthewall was leading at Aintree earlier in the month when falling two out and is preferred to Snookered, who has failed to figure in either outing over fences so far. Informateur should be sharper for last month’s chasing bow at Sedgefield and makes most appeal of the remainder.
