In depth

Verdict

A competitive contest for the money and we will side with STAGECOACH AMBER, while Super Baby and Majorca are among others considered. All of the dozen declared are exposed chasers and so it is just a matter of who can find the necessary to take their turn to win today. The selection ran with credit on soft ground last time, and if it remains good to soft here that should help him to defy a 3lb rise. He acts well at the track and represents connections whose runners should always be noted here, and we think he has an opportunity today. Super Baby was a course and distance scorer a couple of starts back but the handicapper was very harsh in his assessment of that success, meaning James Ewart switched him back to a novices' contest last time. He is dropped 2lbs here and could go very well, but on the evidence of his latest run you would have to say he needs to come down a few pounds more. Majorca went close at Musselburgh last time and trip and ground should suit him. He is another up in the weights for not winning, and that does not inspire complete confidence for your wager. Eborarry has a feather racing weight to carry, as he did when showing up well at Wetherby last month. He responds well to headgear and that is on again today so he could go very well. Whatcanyasay remains on the same mark as when comfortably beaten here last time and the drop back in trip isn't certain to suit, while Miss Pross has her conditions but looks in need of a favour from the assessor. Stagecoach Amber can take gold.
