Verdict

CALLIOPE won this for a different trainer last year. She returned to the Flat with a second at Hamilton last month and another bold bid looks likely. A winner on the all-weather, Mr Carbonator has been threatening to land his first race on Turf with a run of placed efforts while Lafilia went close at Chepstow earlier in the month when finishing in front of Rose Crown and has a shout on that form. Corton Lad looks no nearer ending a long losing run despite tumbling down the weights and the same comment applies to Metronomic.
