Verdict
Paddy The Piper has the best form on offer here and is the obvious choice to take this bumper. Third behind Mister Wellard on his only outing last term, Len Lungo's gelding again showed up well when finding just Chris Grant's Baron Monty too good on his reappearance at Ayr last month. Entitled to improve for the outing, the son of Witness Box should be too good for his rivals here. Sue Smith's Bally's Bak had little chance behind Mary Reveley's useful Nobratinetta at Newcastle last time and may be best of the remainder to have run. Of the newcomers, Richard Fahey's Classical Ben, a son of Most Welcome, Tim Easterby's Executive Perk gelding Little Heck and Jack Weighell from the stable of Malcolm Jefferson all warrant respect, as do Richard Guest's pair Bolton Barrie and Red Marsala but it is difficult to oppose the Lungo horse, who has solid claims.
