Verdict

In a tightly-wound race a real chance is taken on NADEEN. Our pick showed abundant promise as a juvenile for Mick Channon before joining this yard, only making his debut for them in September after over a year off the track. Understandably he failed to figure there but in being beaten less than six-lengths in a warm York handicap last time, over a perhaps inadequate five furlongs, he showed a glimmer of promise. With the sixth furlong to suit and a plummeting handicap mark, as well as this drop in grade, Nadeen is chanced ahead of Di Stefano. He's fully 21lbs lower than he started the season and hasn't been with David Nicholls for long; there's a race in him, but whether it's on this ground remains to be seen. Spread Boy is an exposed maiden who is a pound wrong at the weights so Arch Walker and Spinning Spirit, in particular the latter, are considered best of the rest.
