In depth

Verdict

Vinciaettis won a bumper at Limerick in March for Charlie Swan and, after joining Warren Greatrex, could hardly have won more impressively at Plumpton. His pedigree isn't that of a typical French-bred jumper but he clearly has ability and is very interesting on his hurdling debut. POINT THE WAY has to concede him 7lb after his very comfortable victory on his hurdling debut at Sedgefield where he set a strong pace and looked ideally suited to the testing conditions. He can make that experience count and go in again. Winning point-to-pointer Golden Investment started favourite for his debut over timber at Newcastle but found the minimum trip too short and should do better. San Pietro scored between the flags in Ireland in November but had run poorly over hurdles previously.
