Verdict

Southwell winner Captain Lars escaped a penalty at Lingfield last week but found one too good. Duke Cosimo won at Newcastle a week ago but is upped in class along with Tavener and Bernie's Boy, who both won their penultimate starts. Dutiful Son’s earlier success at Lingfield came in a claiming race but EXCELLENT GEORGE (NAP) was placed in in this grade at Kempton last time and he gets another chance today having won over course and distance before that.
