      Verdict

      Petite Jack showed further progress when scoring over track and trip in September. He narrowly beat Pactolus on that occasion with Ickymasho further back and should go close again but the unbeaten three-year-old MIDDLE KINGDOM is just preferred. John Gosden’s colt made a winning return in a Newmarket handicap back in April and should have improved during the interim. Rainbow Rebel is usually thereabouts without winning while the less exposed Plutonian steps up in trip and is preferred to Tha'ir.
