In depth

Verdict

MAZZINI has raced exclusively over 6f so far in a 14 race career and he can defy a 10lb rise for an impressive win in first time cheekpieces over that trip here last month. The selection showed good speed when making all on that occasion and he can follow up in this valuable sprint handicap. Verne Castle is unbeaten in three starts over this C&D and while he has been out of form of late he can put in a bold show despite a wide draw in his bid to defend that record here. Zac Brown , a winner off a 3lb lower mark here in May can put a modest effort on turf last time out behind him by finishing third today while Goodwood scorer El Astronaute is another worth considering in this contest.
