In depth

Verdict

MERITOCRACY was beaten only a nose off today's mark at Lingfield last week. He can land this with a similar effort as that looks stronger form than Spellmaker's placed effort over track and trip last month. Rouge Nouge won a lower grade contest over 7f last time and Stonefield Flyer beat Pearl Blue in a claimer at Lingfield back in January. But the latter re-opposes on better terms with an apprentice's allowance in her favour while the likes of Plucky Dip, Foxy Forever and Showtime Star have all looked in the handicapper's grip of late.
