In depth

Verdict

Ernie's Valentine won a handicap at Kempton in a first-time tongue-tie and is 4lb higher. Bethersden Boy disappointed on his handicap bow having earlier beaten Superior Force at Newmarket while El Hadeeyah drops down in class and goes handicapping for the first time along with Jilly Cooper and MANHATTANVILLE. But the latter is a dual novice winner having defied a penalty when scoring over course and distance last month and Ed Dunlop’s colt gets the vote.
