Verdict
MATTERHORN started favourite for a Pontefract maiden on his debut and though he could only finish third the yielding ground may not have helped and he should have improved for the experience enough to take this. Nasee was also market leader at Wolverhampton last month after returning from almost a year off but still looked very green and was well beaten. Soldiers Bay has been running in handicaps and very nearly lost his maiden tag at Nottingham though he's well exposed and vulnerable to an improver. Trade Mission was beaten a long way on her debut here but did better at Kempton next time and looks best of the remainder.
