      Verdict

      Makthecat won over a mile at Southwell last time though had placed in a junior bumper before that and this extra distance will suit. But he’s conceding weight to THAI TERRIER and the latter can take advantage. Narrowly beaten on both starts to date, Mark Johnston’s charge can go one better in this with jockey bookings suggesting he’s also preferred to stablemate and newcomer Mountain Ruler. The latter is related to three winners and may still prove best of the rest given the moderate form of the remainder.
