In depth
Verdict
The hat-trick seeking Chilling Place holds an obvious chance of extending his winning sequence here and is selected accordingly. The well-related Maljimar showed plenty of ability on his first start last season and is preferred over Va Vavoom as the best alternative. The selection has done absolutely nothing wrong in his starts so far and looks a useful prospect in the making. A winner of an Irish point-to-point before joining Phillip Hobbs, the so of Moscow Society will make a chaser in time but looks to face a relatively straightforward task this afternoon. Maljimar, who races in the famous Best Mate colours, makes his hurdles debut this afternoon and, like Good Citizen (another former pointer), the market will tell us plenty about the expectations held of him today. However, Chilling Place does look a stand out on all the evidence available and, unfortunately for anyone seeking a shade of odds against, he is likely to be supported accordingly.
