In depth

Verdict

Bonttay is having a first run since landing this 12 months ago when carrying 4lb less. She has to go on the shortlist again, however, defending an unbeaten record. Luccia also won in this grade at Sandown in March and carries a small penalty but she looks a useful sort while three of her rivals have won their only start so far. One of those is Willie Mullins’ Williamstowndancer but we were taken by QUEENS GAMBLE’s manner of victory here in April when beating the odds-on Mullenbeg by 10 lengths. Wetherby scorer Fortuitous Favour looks the pick of his stable’s four runners and Ruby Island took a step forward from her win at Hexham when second at Aintree but Dreaming Diamond never looked like following up her Worcester win here last month.
