Verdict
Jasmin Guichois is selected over Canadiane, with Lincoln Place and You're Special worth a mention. Any more rain will add to the confidence in Jasmin Guichois who was fancied at Cheltenham's Paddy Power meeting but was withdrawn because of the fast ground. The six-year-old is by no means a good thing due to his far from foot-perfect jumping but is well handicapped, and should go close with a clear round. He may well have won at Newbury in March, but for coming down at the last when in contention, and on his seasonal reappearance at Aintree, made a bad blunder at the third last when again going like a winner, eventually finishing third to Prominent Profile. If his fencing does not improve, Canadiane is the one to take advantage. Martin Pipe's runner was given a well judged ride by Rodi Greene when scoring at Chepstow last time, but is fully exposed. Jamie Moore has won on him before though and should have him in the firing line. Philip Hobbs is double-handed, with Tresor Preziniere and Lincoln Place-preference is for the latter who has had a couple of runs over hurdles either side of a decent effort here to keep his mark down. He could make the frame, while You're Special should not be ruled out either. Pat Haslam does not run them over fences unless they pay their way, and this fellow was good enough to win at Aintree in May. He should progress, but we remain loyal to Jasmin Guichois in the capable hands of Sam Thomas.
