Verdict
A good quality field has been assembled for this renewal of the Christie's Foxhunter Chase and the usual strong pace looks assured. The in-form Earthmover, winner of the race in 1998, has found a new lease of life after making the most of a couple of good opportunities in his latest outings. And is sure to be a popular selection. As is last year's winning partnership of Fiona Needham and Last Option. The 11-year-old gelding has been trained with this race in mind all season and another bold show can be expected from him after a steady build up. Bright Approach is another who has some useful form at the course to his name and could go well at decent odds. However, Kingscliff, who barley came off the bridle in his two point-to-point victories, is a live pretender to the throne and is selected to extend his unbeaten status. However, he did make a couple of mistakes on his debut over regulation fences and for that reason he is saver material only. Sheltering is also forwarded as an each-way hope after recording a 10-length defeat of Dorans Pride at Leopardstown last month.
