Verdict

Caid Du Berlais won the Paddy Power here last month and has the scope to suggest he'll go close to a big-race double over this track and trip off only a 5lb higher mark. It's difficult to see any of Edgardo Sol, Ericht or Easter Meteor reversing last month's form today but Barakilla could be a danger off a low weight. He finished ahead of subsequent Sandown winner No Buts on his reappearance and is much better off at the weights. Ascot scorer Niceonefrankie is a bit of a mudlark and may find the surface too quick while Darna needs to step up again on an easy victory at Sedgefield. Splash Of Ginge may have too much weight and the handicapper is also reluctant to release his grip on ATTAGLANCE. But Malcolm Jefferson's charge loves it here and deserves to win one of these after finishing fourth in last year's Paddy Power and second at The Festival in March. His staying-on fifth at Market Rasen in September should have blown away any cobwebs.
