Verdict

Divers won the novices' handicap here last year and was third in the Paddy Power in November. He clearly likes the track and AP McCoy takes over from the injured Graham Lee in the saddle so he has to go on the short-list. Holmwood Legend sprang a 25/1 surprise last year in the race and is starting to come down the weights again. Keiran Burke had a handicap winner here on Tuesday. There's been plenty of ante-post money for Salut Flo, who travelled well for a long way when returning from injury here in December, and David Pipe won this in 2010 with Great Endeavour while the penalised Niceonefrankie has won four of his last five starts. Fine Parchment and Gansey, second and third behind Hector's Choice at Aintree in October, are starting to look well handicapped and will enjoy conditions but Finger Onthe Pulse is getting a bit long in the tooth and novice Notus De La Tour has been done no favours by the handicapper. Tartak and Giorgio Quercus also have their fair share of weight and Crack Away Jack has a bit to prove but Matuhi is no forlorn hope and we also envisage a big run from THE COCKNEY MACKEM. It's a little off-putting that he's still a maiden over fences but there was nothing wrong with his second to Micheal Flips at Taunton two runs ago and he just didn't get home over 3m at Doncaster last time. A very sound jumper, he could be a yet another big-priced winner of this.
