Verdict

This has only been run seven times and Willie Mullins has won it five times. Paul Townend prefers Lot of Joy to Nikini who, along with The Model Kingdom, was beaten by Magical Zoe at Down Royal in November though is now 9lb better off. Love Envoi was the first British-trained winner last year and hopes are high that the unbeaten Luccia can tread the same path. She has undoubtedly been impressive over timber so far but this looks a lot more competitive than the betting suggests. Princess Zoe, a top-class stayer on the Flat, dead-heated with Ladybank on her belated hurdling debut at Punchestown and will know more today. Rachael Blackmore gets off Belle The Lioness to partner FOXY GIRL, who looked a very nice prospect when bolting up in a Limerick maiden just after Christmas. The second emphatically franked the form at Fairyhouse next time and her build-up for this has been deliberately kept low key. Halka Du Tabert looked ready for a step up in trip when just behind Jetara at Fairyhouse last time and You Wear It Well’s last two runs have been over 2m4f.
