In depth

Verdict

Harry Tricker is marginally preferred to Squadron and Art Professor. Hot Diamond and Callisto Moon could go well as may Bantry Bere, Alaghiraar and Serhaaphim although the last three named have a bit to find on the book. The selection disappointed on his first start over hurdles when well backed and he has ground to make up on Hot Diamond on that running. He proved that running all wrong on his next two starts before gaining a deserved success at Plumpton. He was quite strongly fancied for the Fred Winter but wasn't given a hard time there once his chance was gone. Squadron also failed to fire in the juvenile handicap at the Festival but he had also been deemed to have a reasonable chance prior to the race and could well redeem his reputation today. Art Professor has been off since disappointing at Chepstow in December, he had made a good start to his hurdling career in the first half of the season and his chance is respected. One or two others in the field have claims as well but we'll stick with Harry Tricker.
