Verdict

An impossible-looking handicap with many of these open to plenty of improvement. A couple catch the eye at the foot of the weights, however, with Guido Reni still largely on an upward curve and My Brother expected to get much closer to Fakenham conqueror Jacbequick on better terms. Ballinrobe winner Grand Canyon wasn’t beaten far when favourite at Roscommon last month and beat Navan scorer Try Again at Leopardstown in April. Snapdragon Fire went up 8lb for winning at Huntingdon while French import Dream Du Grand Val faces a stiff task on his UK debut having failed to win in 12 attempts. Sizing Cusimano is preferred to stablemate Rockpoint but we’ll take the chance that headgear encourages DOSTAL PHIL to take a further step forward. He probably came up against a nice prospect on his reappearance and was a bit short of room at a crucial stage. - that was his first race in almost a year so he’ll strip fitter today. Visioman is a consistent sort but doesn’t look particularly well handicapped.
