In depth

Verdict

Roznic can prove too good for Nippy Des Mottes, Stan and Allumee. There was a lot to like about the performance of Roznic at Kempton in March when Peter Winkworth's charge disposed of his rivals with ease, and as he still appears to be well handicapped compared to last year, this back-to-form individual is taken to follow up under Leighton Aspell. Nippy Des Mottes was profitable to follow over hurdles, but since being switched to the bigger obstacles has not been the most reliable character, and although he is likely to be there or thereabouts, is definitely worth taking on. Stan has not had the best of luck this season, and a mistake two out cost him in the race won by Bambi De L'Orme at Aintree last week. He turns out again quickly and could make his presence felt along with Allumee who is closely matched with Glengarra whom he beat at Newbury in March. Rapide Plaisir made all in novices company at Ludlow last time but has much more to do in this company, and for the winner we return to Roznic.
