In depth

Verdict

Crystal d'Ainay, Sh Boom and Deano's Beano look the principals in this cracking race and the vote goes to Crystal d'Ainay. The four year old had Sh Boom a length away in second when winning over 2 miles five furlongs off level weights last time and although the gelding from the Alan King yard is four pounds worse off here he is taken to score again as he won with a shade in hand. Sh Boom is a danger to all on these terms but his best form to date is with more cut in the ground. Deano's Beano was well beaten behind Barracuda last time when different tactics were employed but he is sure to make a bold bid to make all the running here. However he has not looked at his best this season and for that reason is opposed. Court Campioni was behind Deano's Beano last time and there is no reason why he should reverse placings on the same terms here. The remainder need to improve significantly on their latest form to trouble the judge so the confident vote goes to Crystal d'Ainay in the hope that he sees out the trip.
