In depth
Verdict
Church Hall is only 4lb higher than when scoring over track and trip in January and he was staying on when falling next time at Stratford. Farm The Rock was in good form over hurdles in the autumn but is 0-6 over fences. Irish Octave hinted at a revival here last time but The Lion Dancer’s long absence is a concern, though he’ll enjoy the going. The handicapper has given ROYAL PALLADIUM a chance today easing him a further 5lb since a more encouraging effort in first-time blinkers at Sandown. Charlie Deutsch is back on board so Venetia Williams’ stayer gets the nod.
