Verdict
El Bandindos gets the call over Iris's Flyer, with Jazz City, That's My Charlie, Princess Of Spurs and Withiel Lad others worth noting. The last named is one of two David Pipe entries, and is sure to be placed to good effect over timber in time, but preference today is for stablemate El Bandindos who will be all the better for his return to action at Kempton a fortnight ago when a staying on fourth to Benetwood. That was his debut over hurdles, and with this long finishing straight to help, the six-year-old can improve enough to take the spoils. Iris's Flyer produced his best effort when third to Tisseman at Hereford in February, and as long as he handles the faster conditions here, can also take a hand. Jazz City has been placed a number of times already, including in class 3 company, but has been off for over three months, so is perhaps best watched, while That's My Charlie will be all the better for his introduction to obstacles at Wincanton last month, and is another that can pay his way in time. Princess Of Spurs got bogged down in the heavy ground on her Folkestone bow and is capable of better, but our tentative vote goes to El Bandindos.
